Appliances rarely quit without warning. The refrigerator starts running longer than it used to, the dryer needs a second cycle, the dishwasher leaves a film on the glasses, and the washer smells a little musty when you open the door. Those are the moments a maintenance visit is made for. Eddie’s Appliance Repair offers preventive appliance maintenance and cleaning for homes across Suffolk County and parts of Nassau County: inspections, safety checks, refrigerator coil cleaning, dryer lint cleaning, dishwasher cleaning and filter service, washer cleaning, and odor treatment.
We will be honest with you up front. Maintenance cannot prevent every failure, and it cannot fix a part that has already worn out. What it can do is keep the appliances you rely on clean and running the way they should, and give our technician a chance to spot wear before it turns into a warm refrigerator or a puddle on the laundry room floor.
Signs an Appliance Could Use Some Care
Most homeowners call us for maintenance because an appliance has started acting a little different, or because it has been years since anyone looked at it.
- The refrigerator runs constantly or feels warm: Dust on the condenser coils makes a refrigerator work harder to hold its temperature. Coil cleaning is often the first thing our technician checks.
- The dryer takes longer than it used to: Lint builds up inside the dryer over time, well past the lint screen, and slows drying. Dryer lint cleaning and an airflow check take care of it.
- The dishwasher smells or leaves residue: A clogged filter and buildup in the tub affect how well dishes come out. Dishwasher cleaning and filter service clear it.
- The washer smells musty: Front-load washers especially collect residue in the door gasket and drum. Washer cleaning and odor treatment freshen it up.
Appliance Cleaning Services We Offer
Cleaning is where a maintenance visit does the most good, because the parts that collect dust, lint, and residue are usually the ones you cannot reach without taking something apart.
- Refrigerator coil cleaning: We get to the condenser coils, clear the dust and pet hair, and check that the fan is moving air the way it should.
- Dryer lint cleaning: We clean the lint that collects inside the dryer beyond the lint screen and check airflow through the machine. Reduced airflow means longer drying times.
- Dishwasher cleaning and filter service: We remove and clean the filter, clear buildup from the spray arms and tub, and run a cycle to confirm it drains and cleans properly.
- Washer cleaning and odor treatment: We clean the drum, the door gasket, and the dispenser, treat the source of the odor, and check the fill hoses for wear. Washing machine cleaning is one of our most common requests.
Inspections and Safety Checks
Not every visit is about cleaning. An appliance inspection is a careful look at a refrigerator, dishwasher, oven, range, washer, or dryer for worn parts, tired seals, and early signs of trouble. A performance inspection goes further: our technician runs the appliance and compares how it is doing with how it should perform. Oven and refrigerator maintenance visits often start here.
A safety check looks for the things you cannot see from the outside: a range without an anti-tip bracket, lint packed around a dryer’s heating parts, a door seal or hose starting to fail. We tell you what we found in plain language, and if anything needs attention right away, you hear it from us first.
The Yearly Maintenance Visit
Many of our customers book one maintenance visit a year and have us go through the whole house in one trip: refrigerator coils, lint inside the dryer, the dishwasher filter, the washer, and a look at the oven and range. You get a short rundown of what was done and what to keep an eye on, and you call whenever you want the next one.
Washer and dryer maintenance, dishwasher maintenance, and refrigerator maintenance can also be booked on their own if you only need one appliance looked at.
What a Maintenance Visit Looks Like
- Call with the details: Tell us which appliances you want serviced, the brands and model numbers, and anything that has changed lately. Our customer service representative books a two-hour arrival window.
- Our technician reviews the scope: They look over each appliance, confirm what fits it, and give you a clear quote before any work starts.
- Cleaning and inspection: We do the agreed cleaning, inspection, and safety-check work and run each appliance to confirm it is working.
- Plain-language findings: You hear what was cleaned, what we noticed, and whether anything is worth watching or repairing.
Same-day openings are often available during business hours, depending on the route. Our hours are Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We are closed on Sunday.
When Maintenance Turns Up a Repair
Sometimes a cleaning visit finds a part that is already on its way out. When that happens, our technician explains it separately from the maintenance work and gives you a quote before touching anything else. You decide. If you go ahead, the repair carries our 90-day parts and labor warranty, and many repairs take about 20 to 30 minutes once the cause is found.
If your appliance has already stopped working, book a repair visit instead. Our dryer repair service handles dryers that will not heat or tumble, our refrigerator repair service handles warm or leaking refrigerators, and our washer repair service takes care of washers that will not drain or spin. A repair visit starts with a $95 diagnostic fee that applies toward the repair when you go ahead with it.
We maintain and repair GE (a specialty focus), Whirlpool, Samsung, LG, Speed Queen, Frigidaire, Bosch, KitchenAid, Admiral, and Maytag appliances, along with high-end brands like Sub-Zero, Viking, Thermador, and Jenn-Air. Our technicians are licensed, certified, and insured, and we have been an independent family business in Brentwood since 2009. Maintenance is one of our residential appliance services, and we bring it to homes from Commack to the South Shore and across parts of Nassau County.
