The new appliance made it to the house, and now it is sitting in the middle of the kitchen or waiting in the garage. Maybe the delivery crew would not hook it up, or maybe you would rather have someone who works on appliances every day handle the setup. Eddie’s Appliance Repair installs refrigerators, dishwashers, ranges, ovens, cooktops, over-the-range microwaves, washers, dryers, stackable laundry units, and range hoods in homes across Suffolk County and parts of Nassau County.
Our technicians are the same licensed, certified, and insured people who repair these appliances all week, so they know what a rushed installation looks like: the refrigerator that rocks, the dishwasher that drips at the door because nobody leveled it, the range with no anti-tip bracket. We would rather set it up right the first time, using the existing, working connections at the spot, and test everything before we leave.

What We Install
We handle the major kitchen and laundry appliances in a home. If yours is not on this list, call anyway and our customer service representative will tell you straight.
- Refrigerators: Freestanding, counter-depth, and built-in models. We set the unit in place, level it so the doors swing shut on their own, and connect the ice maker to the working water connection already at the spot.
- Dishwashers: Dishwasher installation is one of our most common calls. We slide the unit under the counter, connect it to the existing hookups, secure it to the cabinet, level it, and run a full test cycle.
- Ranges, ovens, and cooktops: Freestanding and slide-in ranges, wall ovens, and cooktops. Every range we install gets leveled and anchored with an anti-tip bracket, and we test the burners and the oven before we go.
- Over-the-range microwave and range hood installation: We mount the unit above the range, secure it to the cabinet, and test the light and fan.
- Washers, dryers, and stackable units: Top-load and front-load washers, gas and electric dryers, stackable sets, and laundry centers. We connect the washer to its hookups, level it so it does not walk across the floor on the spin cycle, install or replace the dryer power cord when needed, stack and secure a stackable set so it stays square, and run everything through a test.
Installation Uses the Connections Already in Place
Our installations connect your appliance to the existing, working connections at the spot, usually the same ones your previous appliance used. That keeps the visit simple and the quote predictable. When you call, our customer service representative will ask a few questions about the spot so we can confirm it is ready before we put you on the schedule.
If our technician finds that a connection is missing, damaged, or not working, they will explain what needs attention before the installation can continue. Nobody likes a surprise on installation day, so we would rather ask twice on the phone than guess.
Leveling, Anti-Tip Brackets, Power Cords, and Final Testing
Leveling sounds like a small thing until it gets skipped. An unlevel refrigerator may not seal well, a dishwasher can leak at the door, and a washer can shake hard enough to move on the spin cycle. Our technician levels every appliance we install and checks it again once it is running.
An anti-tip bracket anchors the back of a range so it cannot tip forward if a child climbs on the open oven door. We install one with every range. If a new dryer or range arrives without a power cord, or the old cord is worn, we install or replace it as part of the visit.
The last step is always a test: a dishwasher cycle, a cooling check on the refrigerator, every burner lit, and a washer and dryer run. Then we walk you through what we did.
How an Installation Visit Works
- Call with the details: Tell us the appliance type, brand, full model number, where it is going, and your address.
- We confirm the spot is ready: We ask about the existing connections, the path into the room, and the opening size for built-in or under-counter units.
- Pick a two-hour window: Same-day openings are often available during business hours, depending on the route and the day, though we never promise one.
- Our technician reviews the job: They look over the appliance and the space and confirm the quote with you before any work starts.
- Install, test, and walk-through: We set it, connect it, level it, secure it, and test it, then show you how it went.
Our hours are Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We are closed on Sunday. You can also request an installation online.
Getting Ready for Installation Day
A few minutes of prep helps the visit go smoothly. Have the appliance at the home before the window starts, keep the model number and manual nearby, clear the path from the door to the room, and tell us ahead of time about stairs, a tight turn, or a narrow doorway. For built-in and under-counter units, measure the opening and share the numbers when you book.
Still deciding whether the old appliance is worth saving? Our team repairs the same appliances we install, and a dishwasher repair visit starts with a $95 diagnostic fee that applies toward the repair when you go ahead with it. Once the new appliance is in, a yearly maintenance visit helps keep it running well.
